Imoen in ID: I didn't see this when playing for the first time, but when you read her dialogues in ID whith the Dryads and the "servant" in the tank the sexual assault is screaming between the lines. I was quite devastated to discover this, as Imoen's fate in the game is cruel enough without any hint on sexual assault on top.

Thank you for the kind words.
Torture of any kind is cruel and terrible, whether sexually charged and not. Absolutely.
I have hope that - after reading the latest trilogy by R.Salvatore - drow ways might become less cruel with different government (which just might happen - there's a glimmer of hope, anyway). Like Drizzt, I continue hoping.

Interesting that I played unmodded BG over twenty times, but I never ever thought Imoen was sexually assaluted. Tortured, yes, but never once touched in a sexual way. It's interesting how different our interpretations can be.

(Sorry, I haven't been here for years, I know - it's just PPG software changed and I went to Sellswords forum to check if the links worked. Never mind))

I think it makes sense in context. We always hear how horribly evil the Drow are, but when we encounter them too frequently they are watered down. Not a pleasant read by any means, but a good reminder with whom you are dealing in the context of the story.

Heyos!

Fist off, thank you for this mod! I absolutely loved it, and honestly it is the first content/quest mod I haven't found myself sighing, going "srsly?" :P

It was super-enjoyable. Great areas, straight-forward quests, "no stupid sh*t", interesting characters, decent voice acting - it's awesomesauce. Great job!

----- SPOILER ------

My only real issue--though a big one--is the detailed rape and murder story, youknowwhichone. It should come as no surprise: it's disgusting, sickening--saddening, even--and I don't even know why it's there to begin with. It's not like we don't already know the horrifying atrocities supposedly carried out in the world of D&D, by drow in particular; no need to go into disturbing detail about it. I don't know what else to say--it ruined the entire experience, to be honest--and I literally feel emotionally and physically abused having read/heard that stuff.

[...] A surface woman, even younger than you. [...] I took her twice, from behind, and her screams and her warm breasts filled me with desire. [...] Her blood was warm, too. It ran hot as I cut her throat. [...] I scalped her afterwards. [...]"

I'm sorry, but what the actual F? I'm not against sexual content in general, but this is like you're trying to give sexual predators a boner.

I get that the character in question is supposed to come off as loathsome, worthy of death, but this is just taking it too far. You could easily get the same effect with a more "subtle" approach. Take the Irenicus-Imoen thing, for instance. Words like 'rape' or 'assault' are never even mentioned, and players still get the message loud and clear about what he did to her.

I'm sorry for darkening my previously sung praises with this, but it had to be said. Things like rape should never be shoved down people's throat like it's "part of reality; deal with it". Because it shouldn't be part of reality. End of.

Maybe I've made a bunch of people roll their eyes with my "sensitivity"; but maybe I've also just offered some relief to a bunch of other people who felt the same way as me.

Just... consider toning it down. :( Other than that, I hope you manage to take to heart my compliments for the mod as well, because my overall opinion of the mod as a whole is still two thumbs up! :) Thank you.
