Like Argent77 says, there's nothing in the code that could reasonably have caused your problem.

I have an updated toolchain for Windows, but I don't think I used it for v244. I don't expect it to cause problems, but I decided against taking the chance for this version. I have not tested SCS with v244, but I would expect the larger Windows userbase would have complained if there had been a similar performance impact.

Exact the same mods in exact the same order.

I‘ve installed stratagems more than 20 times in my life. Version 244 is somewhat special, to say the least. Is the windows 244 version ok?

For both cases the environment was identical: fresh install + some mods + stratagems
What do the "some mods" include, is it the EXACT SAME MODS in both, or 45 creature mods in one, and 45 item mods in the other, with barely nothing in common ? There's a humongous difference between those, as you should know. Also, the SCS randomizes a few things that could cause different install time, of course, it should be smaller than what you experienced.

Was the mods before the SCS's install exact same ? The SCS is extremely brittle to assumption traps where changing just a few things increase the install time by alots.

Several weeks ago I switched from an old Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion) VM to a more recent macOS version, which also came with a new development environment. To retain compatibility with older OSX releases I had to compile the WeiDU binary in 32-bit legacy format, which hurts performance quite a bit. I'm planning to provide both legacy 32-bit and modern 64-bit binaries starting with the next WeiDU release, which hopefully provides better performance.

Btw, WeiDU 244 is just a minor bugfix release that provides a compatibility fix for BG2+TobEx installations on Windows. It should be safe to continue using WeiDU 243 in most cases.

Version 244 is much slower than Version 243. Some numbers:

The first initialisation stage of a stratagems installation took 19 minutes with Version 244, compared to 7 minutes with Version 243.

The AI initialisation stage with Version 243 took 31 minutes. With Version 244 it wasn't completed after 3 hours.

(I'm using a Mac, if that matters)
