Since when did installing BF2Fixpack before Ascension become kosher? iirc it's always been strongly warned against to do so.

Yep, everything seems right.

I recommend taking a look at "how to reinstall your game in 30 seconds" section here: http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,17555

And, naturally, if you're installing Unfinished Business(which was written by modders, not developers), I recommend checking out other (small for a start, not TDD in size) mods. Banter Pack of Flirt Pack sounds like a good start, or Level1NPCs.

Greetings!
First: sorry for posting in a four year old thread, but I guess its not necessary to start a new one about the same subject while this one is still on the first page of the forum :)
Now for my question: Is this piece of information still up to date? So, with the most recent versions of Ascension (1.4.24 from http://weidu.org/asc.html) and the Gibberling 3 BG2 Fixpack (Version 10 from http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=696), is it still necessary to install Ascension before the Fixpack? I'm getting contradictory informations when searching about this subject.

I was planning to install BG2 in the following order:
- BG2 & ToB Full Installation
- Official Patch Ver. 26498
- Gibberling 3 BG2 Fixpack Ver. 10
- Ascension Ver. 1.4.24
- Unfinished Business Ver. 19
- Gibberling 3 BG2 Tweak Pack Ver. 11 (selected components)
Any thoughts/comments?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

PS: I know that there is a newer, modified version of Ascension out there in form of a Megapack's component, however I'd like to avoid meddling with those huge packs if possible.

Only to let you know, if you want to install Ascension with BG2 Fixpack, Baldur's Gate Trilogy and/or more mods:

At the moment it is recommend to install Ascension before BG2 Fixpack and to minimize compatibility problems, jon-eli has made a workaround for it. The workaround you can find here and find here.

Jon-eli's workaround, DavidW's Yaga-Shura fix - finyaga.bcs and DavidW's Lieutenant Thief darts of stunning fix - yaga05.cre/ysmage01.cre are included in the BiG World Fixpack until erebusant's revamp comes out.

Additional we use Taimon's "Creature Offset Checker" with the BiG World Fixpack to correct offsets for better compatibilities in megamods. By Ascension there is only the following one:

The cre is o.k., but it could give problems, if another mod want to change this cre later (if it want to use the same offset).
