I am afraid I won't be able to help you with IEEP, because(to my knowledge) it is quite outdated, and is not often used anymore.
These days, there are very few mods for plain BG1. Mostly, they are for TUTU conversion, which allows playing BG1 in BG2 engine(Tab Key, Monks and Sorcerers, high resolution and BG2 walking speeds, et cetera).
I would recommend EasyTUTU, if you have an English version of BG1 and BG2:

As well, with EasyTUTU, you'll be able to install BG1 NPC Project: banters, quests and even romances for your BG1 NPCs, so your BG1 game will be as rich in interaction as BG2 is.
I know BG2Tweaks do the job for TUTU(EasyTUTU), but for BG1, I cannot say. Try http://modlist.pocketplane.net - all available mods for plain BG1 are listed there.

I have IEEP installed so I can Install the .TBG MODs from Eirinjas' Faster Baldur's Gate (Firewalker Lite) MOD Pack.
When I double-click the .TBGs this happens:
"There has been an error in the program. The specific information for this error is as follows:
No affinity engine game is installed on this system that this program can recognise and no valid game path is set in the options menu at InfinityEditorPro.03.01.
would you like IEEP to check the registry for possible Infinity Engine games installed on your system?"
*clicked yes*
"Baldur's Gate path not set in options!"
*license agreement appears and another message similar to the one above*
"There has been an error in the program. The specific information for this error is as follows:
No affinity engine game is installed on this system that this program can recognise and no valid game path is set in the options menu at InfinityEditorPro.09.02.
