I once removed it using Shadowkeeper, and there were a lot of weird things resulting. IIRC, the game seemed to forget that she can wear theif items.

Is there some way to remove valen's armour other than using shadowkeeper?  I know she needs it to survive in daylight, but in, for example, the underdark, where you don;t see the sun for a long time, it'd be nice to give her some of that adamatine chain.  If you took her armour off would she lose her vampiric resistances to poison etc, or are they innate?
