Iirc the radiant heart has a big problem with Valen entering that building. But it's easy to drop her and go in...get the quest...and then pick her up again. She's pretty pushy about being evil and will get you into trouble alot, so just quicksave a lot when you do the quests, in case her bloodlust gets the better of you... B)

Is it possible to have Valen in your party and still do the Palladin specific quests?
