Is it intentional that almost none of the dialogs of Cromwell are used any more (traditional version)? He never states what he is going to use and when you don't have all the ingredients he won't give any clues on what is needed. If you have the items he just says something like "You want improvement?".
This is fixed in v48.

The Item Upgrade mod allows Cromwell and Cespenar to upgrade additional items in BGII. One third of them are convenience functions (e.g., they save you ring or boot space), one third of them try to beef up categories of weapons that are "weak by comparison" (e.g., clubs and spears), and one third of them upgrade NPC-specific items.

Version 46 fixes a small compatibility issue if Item Upgrade is installed after SCS (which you shouldn't do anyway) and v47 fixes a bug where Cromwell would not offer to make the Sorcerian Ring in the 'original' component.

Changelog

  • v47: Fixed a bug where Cromwell, in the original component, would fail to make the Sorcerian Ring due to a bad trigger.
  • v46: The compatibility fix with SCS introduced in v45 would fail if SCS was installed first due to a bad path. SCS should be installed after Item Upgrade regardless.
