This doesn't help all that much. Can you find the actual error in the DEBUG file, or just upload the DEBUG file to some free sharing site.

Could you post your weidu.log?

(EDIT: oops, I read this as BG2 unfinished business, which I'm kind-of-sort-of-helping maintain. But doubtless posting the log is a good idea for BG1 UB too.)

I got a recent error in installing this mod. Since there is no place to send the debug file i'll just post the pertinent error:

I see, makes sense now. This should correct all the issues:
Code: [Select]
REPLACE_TRIGGER_TEXT %tutu_var%BJAHEI ~"Kahlid"~ ~"Khalid"~ //5, 8

Maybe I'm confused. So, you'd like to see BG1UB fix the typo in BJAHEI.DLG in a BGT or BG2 installation?
to be more clear:

in a BGT install, i.e. SoA + ToB + patch + BGT + BG1UB ==> yes, would like to see the typo fixed.

in a BG2 install, i.e. SoA + ToB + patch + BG1UB ==> well, obviously no one would deliberately install BG1UB on a plain BG2 install without BGT, so this would be irrelevant.

yes, BGT (which i guess automatically implies BG2 but as i said there is no harm in that, we're only dealing with a misspelling here, not some fundamental design change).

the way i see it, instead of looking in a place where the typo does not happen (in BGT), might as well correct it in the actual place where it does happen.  yes, yes i know, BGT/BG1UB does not make any actual use of BJAHEI, still...

other code may use this variable to point correctly to BJAHEIR.DLG
i understand that, Ascension, but the only reason this variable exists (in BG1UB) is to fix the spelling error.

i agree the typo exists in tutu and vanilla BG, but i never said those dialog files should be changed.

what i am saying is, there is no reason whatsoever why you shouldn't fix the typo in BJAHEI.DLG, regardless of whether it's BGT's banter file (the same typo happens in BG2's BJAHEI.DLG in the same offsets as BG1's BJAHEI.DLG and also in tutu's _BJAHEI.DLG when i last checked).  you don't even have to modify the %JAHEIRA_BANTER% variable if you feel it's too "dangerous", i don't see why it couldn't be done separately.

anyway, it seems you've made up your mind.  no worries.  i don't want to push the issue further.

cheers for addressing the other issues.

While the code does nothing useful in BGT, both BG and Tutu hold the typo in BJAHEI.DLG.
Modifying the %JAHEIRA_BANTER% variable for BGT only is dangerous because other code may use this variable to point correctly to BJAHEIR.DLG, which is the banter file that BGT actually uses.

i can see that, but the error is already corrected on the BGT side so that line wouldn't have any effect.  so what's the harm in fixing the mixspelling on the other file (even if it's not used by BGT)?

This is a combined BG/BGT/Tutu installation. It's a catch-all line of code.

This is fine, since BGT doesn't use BJAHEI.dlg.
so how exactly does fixing a nonexistent spelling error in a different, unrelated file supposed to help?  ???

Code: [Select]
[quote]%JAHEIRA_BANTER% evaluates to BJAHEIR (according to g3_bgt_cpmvars.tpa) but the misspelled "Kahlid" appears in BJAHEI.dlg, not BJAHEIR.dlgThis is fine, since BGT doesn't use BJAHEI.dlg.

creature doesn't exist.  even if %tutu_var% was placed in front, there is still no HALFEN2.cre
the 'play sound' effect looks for a missing sound file WERE_01 (at 0x10E).  maybe it's WEREG_01?
Fixed, thanks.

Sakul.CRE has an item SCRL1R in his inventory; looks like a typo as it doesn't exist.
This one is dud? BG1UB changes SCRL1J to SCRL1I. So, if you haven't made a typo, another mod is doing this.

pretty sure i didn't make a typo, so if there is any other mod that's doing this, then it's likely BGT.

this is what Sakul's inventory looks like in NI with just BGT 1.07 installed.  maybe this resource isn't being copied over from BG1?
This looks like the same inventory from BG1, where he has SCRL1R on his .cre, but not in any item slot.  It's the unused Wraithform scroll.
