I guess I can (more or less) offer

Karin(Ranger) as a Ranger/Cleric,
Teri(Fighter/Thief) as a Thief/Mage or Fighter/Mage/Thief.
Seren(Bard) as a Fighter/Mage or Mage.

Thank you for the suggestions. Also, I apologize in advance if characters' names will be changed slightly in the final release, since naming is not my strongest point. (On the other hand, I'm quite used to their names by now, so renaming them would be painful; but that's a separate topic).

It sounds like it'd work fine to me. ^_^

Although I will take any opportunity to clamor for more npcs. </joking but a little serious>

Don't mind me though, it looks like a great start. :D

Seren would work as a mage. I certainly don't want to have to play one as a PC. Just give him an aptitude for music, and you won't have to worry about dialogue mismatch.

I don't think allowing Seren (or Holg) additional class choices makes a ton of sense with their dialogue, so they should be out for the 'official' alternative options (unless you want to turn Holg into a Mazzy style fighter or whatever). 'Enchanter' is what suits best a bard, though.

Neila, as you say, is already duallable (and her character profile states she's mainly a fighter and a priest), so I don't think she needs any additional choices as well (as there's no reason to choose a pure priest over a fighter -> dual, unless you can't complete the prologue without Heal Minor Wounds).

A R/C Karin doesn't clash too bad with what little of his character is known (unless she talks about being skilled with the bow or whatever), and this way he could fill in the role of secondary divine caster (and make sure that you can get the full array of divine spells across the party).

Making Teri an (illegal, but who cares) Thief -> Mage would make her an effective primary mage, but would leave the party without a thief (and thieves are needed in this dungeon-heavy game). Thief/Mage would leave the party without a primary mage, since neither him nor Seren will get higher level spells. Of course, across her and Seren you'd get enough lower-level spells to buff the party and deal what damage is needed, whereas higher level spells in this game aren't spectacular like in BG2, and you can always roll a Mage yourself if you really want them.

The player will be able to fully customize the experience with Dalekeeper, and, perhaps, later with mods a-la Level1NPC.

However, as the_bigg says,

"While L1NPC is the ultimate solution for 'experienced' people to fully customize NPCs, options a-la-Xan are easier to install and the available options might make more sense roleplay-wise than just hacking away with DK or L1NPC and resulting with non-sensical characters (for ex. you don't risk making Olga Holg a Necromancer or whatever)."

So, please, take a look at character profiles, and tell me which options you'd like to have.

For example, it may look like this:

Seren: bard
- fighter/mage
(- mage
- specialist mage ) (?)

Teri: fighter/thief
- thief/mage
- thief(dual-class to mage)

Neila: she is already a fighter who can be dualled to a cleric or to a druid very early, so I am not sure what else can be done with her. A cleric/mage, perhaps.

Holg: again, I am not sure what you can do to him; a paladin is a solid class you cannot easily tweak.

Karin: - " - " - probably the same thing; though a ranger/cleric may be an option(it's not legitimate for an elf, though).

(Note that other characters will still refer to Seren as a bard, even if he is a fighter/mage. Same with Karin: he is a ranger/afighting type, and he expressly cannot cast any arcane magic. Teri is a thief, and so on).

Does it make sense to you? Is it a good idea or not, and why?
