Great idea! Respawning unique opponents like those in the Guarded Compound seems a bad idea, though. Perhaps there's a way to have opponents regain their spells and limited-use abilities after 8 hours have passed?

My idea is that, for example, the first time you go to Bodhi's lair and you have to leave then it would repopulate so long as the first part of that quest is not complete.  As soon as you complete the quest (some global that I dont know gets set) the area stops repopulating until you go there a second time to finish the quest at which time another global is set and the area repopulates again until the last global for that quest gets set then it stops repopulating again.  I imagine the same could be done for Linvals place, Firkrags dungeon and the other quest places especially the guarded compound as it would make getting the katana harder because I know that people go up the stairs and lure the people down 1 at a time and rest when needed.

I think it is an excellent idea and it would also be nice to repopulate other game areas as well. The only thing is how to tell the player to go there again. How long would a great place like Bodhi's lair or Mr. F's hideout go unused?

So as I was playing the other day I thought of something,  how about a tweak that adds enemy to someplace when you leave.  To be more clear, Say I am going to wipe out Linval's stronghold and about halfway thru I decide to leave and reinforce myself (not a too stupid idea sometimes, retreat to fight another day), well it would be nice for Linval to do the same thing, for example, after me being gone for 2 hours he gets 25% of his dead troops back (not raise dead but troops from other places), after 4 hours 50% and after 8 hours 100%.  Would make it more playable IMO because if I screwed up and went in with wrong tactics then leaving and comming back later would be just as difficult as the first time I went in. 

I dont know if its doable but would be an excellent idea.
