Is there any stuff you discovered while making the conversion?
There should be :)

Just how badly needed is said sanding pf the edges?  Am I going to go insane of frustration upon installing this beta?

And this is just after I buy IWD2 and consider PMing you to become a beta tester...

In any case, I'm sad to hear that you no longer have the time to mod, but rest assured that you'll never be forgotten, and all that. You're a great guy Weimer, and not only did you make a difference, you basically defined IE modding. I certainly hope you'll still find time to drop by once in a while  :)

As many of you have probably guessed, I no longer have the time to actively chase down iwg2 bugs. The differences between the iwd2 and bg2 engines make a "simple" bg1tutu-style conversion impossible. As posters to this board have noticed, many rough corners remain to be manually sanded.

In fact, real-world responsibilities have kept me away from the world of BG2 modding for quite some time -- I haven't even had a chance to read all of the posts in this forum, for example. My thanks to those who took the time to report bugs here.

The beta version is now publically available from http://weidu.org/iwg2/ -- have as much fun with it as you like.

If you are interested in taking over the maintenance of the iwg2 project, let me know.
