On core she turns to gas. on harder difficutlies than core its deactivated.

Do you have the "Ease-of-use" mod installed? It is supposed to eliminate the drow avatars while in the Underdark and is supposed to eliminate some bugs associated with that.

If you do have it installed then perhaps it may be something else. I think that selecting difficulty level also has an affect on whether she turns to a gaseous state or not. I think she may not have a gaseous state on Insane difficulty for example.

There are far more qualified people here to help you however. Perhaps they may reply also.

Adalon said that the drow avatars in the underdark were an illusion, not a changing the biological makeup of the characters. Contrary to this, Valen does not turn into gaseous form upon near-death, and instead dies, which sucks, since I oftentimes use her as a pawn to receive blows while I beat the crap out of my assailants heheheheh...

So yeah, is this a bug, or did you want it this way?
