Tutu AI Pack v1 Released!

This package makes enemies in BG1Tutu behave more intelligently. They do not gain any new abilities or changes otherwise. Currently, the following differences will be visible:
- All creatures will choose their targets more carefully when attacking. Unintelligent creatures such as zombies are unaffected by this change.
- Mages will cast their spells less predictably and more sensibly. They will also utilize other forms of attack, such as ranged weapons, inbetween casting.

(Okay, maybe that doesn't sound so impressive, but every little bit helps, eh? This will be expanded upon in future versions.)

I would assume that Sim's mod approaches installation far more intelligently than the gMinion-into-Tutu hackery I did.  Thus, I would install gMinion 1.6.7 + the "activation" zip first, and Sim's mod second.  If it turns out that Sim overwrites _TASIGHT and _DASIGHT, it wouldn't be hard to write a tiny EXTEND_BOTTOM mod to readd the gMinion bits.

Or we could just wait for a Tutu-compatible gMinion. *cough*cirrerek*cough*

Whhhaaaaaaaaaaaat!  Can't a fella study his navel lint for any length of time these days!  Cam's back.  I'll see if I can harangue him into 'helping' me to update the install package.

Oh, think again. I just overwrite the files. (It's typically difficult to patch AI in intelligently because more often than not the Bioware stuff you leave behind ends up doing something stupid.) I can update this quickly, though. Where's your Tutu gMinion stuff?

Oh, think again. I just overwrite the files. (It's typically difficult to patch AI in intelligently because more often than not the Bioware stuff you leave behind ends up doing something stupid.) I can update this quickly, though. Where's your Tutu gMinion stuff?

The archive with the updated scripts is here, and the thread which talks about it is here.  But that file has been downloaded...hardly at all, so worrying about it probably isn't worth your time.  It's also much more fun to pester cirerrek instead, of course.

They would actually complement one another nicely, as cirerrek's mod undumbifies summons to match your destupified monsters.  The joining would be fairly easy as well -- his mod just needs a block added to four of the generic AI scripts (_TASIGHT, _DASIGHT, WTASIGHT, and one that is particular to summoned nymphs, IIRC) which basically causes summons to switch AI on the fly to gMinion AI scripts.

Hey I don't know about you guys, but I'm personally worth several downloads, and as much Guinness as you can drink next time you fly through the Chicago area -- definitely stop that studying the lint (breathing, eating, sleeping, having a social life, earning money, etc.) and get modding  ;D

Well, all the Guiness you can drink except the Aussies -- I am not THAT well off!

Changes:
-Cam's and Macready's TuTu compatibility ugrades
-Ala Horred's shave and haircut of the eSeries, I moved the HaveSpellRES() and HaveSpell() checks to the tops of the script snippets.
-WeiDU v191

Now what did I do with that wad of navel lint. ;)

Seriously, thanks.  It will be nice to be able to install gMinion on Tutu without having to dig up an earlier version from your site and then muck with the scripts.

@Salk:

I had the same problem and asked Sim about it.  If, prior to installing, you open all of the BAF files (I think it was about half a dozen or so) in the TutuAI mod subfolder, and do a global find/replace of LONG_BOW to MAGE_ALL, you'll be able to install it without issue.

No, I think the EasyTutu CLASS.IDS is structured contrary to Sim's expectations (although I haven't fiddled with it at all).  I notice that there is more than one symbolic constant for the LONG_BOW/MAGE_ALL value, and I do remember that this causes issues (I think it was that NI goes with the first one it finds and WeiDU uses the last one, or vice versa...something like that).  I am hesitant to screw with the IDS file, though, because IDS files in general are heavily intertwined with the process of installing mods, and to date Sim's TutuAI mod is the first mod (that I know of) to experience any issues with installing on EasyTutu (i.e., I am worried I'll cause more problems than I will solve by meddling).

All issues with TutuAI are entirely because I suck and made it in 5 minutes. EasyTutu and WeiDU are fine.
