Illasera hiccup

A few seconds into the fight, all my characters just stop what they're doing.  The ones in melee stop attacking, and magic-users stop casting mid-spell, as if I'd selected everyone and hit the X button.  I redirect them, but it inevitably happens again, at various intervals.  Very frustrating!  I've uninstalled the ascension package, and the problem seems to go away, so I'm guessing it's something to do with one of the ascension or improved illasera components?
