Don't you think that Valen's portrait is a bit contrasting with it's race ? I mean, yes indeed female vampires are beautiful and pale but :
1) They have claws
2) They have teeth
3) They are a bit "hot & spicy" not beautiful and pure (like an angel)
Moreover, according to his class (warrior) and dialogues (without a bit of tenderness) she's not supposed to be soft.
I don't want Valen to be the vampire stereotype but maybe she worth a portrait that best fits his character.

I like the visual dichotomy of the callous monster with the porcelain-fragile countenance. Her claws and fangs could be considered retractable.

Just replace VALENL.BMP and VALENS.BMP in the override folder with something you would prefer.

However, the default picture is wildly popular (you're the only voice of dissention I've heard) so it will probably stay for a while.

I like missus Valen's current portrait, too :) She's beautiful *purrs* :D Not as much as Immy cat, though! But who is? Meow... :)

Besides, she looks like a human thief when she gives you missus Bodhi's proposal, but just like another vampire when you fight her in missus Bodhi's dungeon! :D

Edit: Well, at least the second one is true in Normal Shadows of Amn... :D

Perhaps the Valen mod changed that, but I don't think so ^_^

Ayup the Valen mod does change that Gospel, that specific vampire in Chapter 6 is called something else with the Valen mod installed.  Regardless of if you sided with her or not, the vampire who used to be at Valen's spot in Bodhi's dungeon in Chapter 6 is now Cynara.

Elsewhere Valen appears is normal I believe.

Well, i've a bit "improved" Valen's portrait. What do you think of this ?

Sorry, but I don't like it.
The earrings are alright but the pink nailvarnish just doesn't make it for a fearful vampire.

Yes, in fact, you're right. I'll have to choose another color. I first tried to draw her claws but it was too hard for me (i'm not a painter at all).

However, I don't think vampires should be "fearful". In fact, they should be rather charming at first glance (like bodhi). They are really evil creatures when they act, you can't deduce this from their apperarance.

At first glance saw Bodhi was a vampire, and I didn't find her charming at all.
Maybe you could paint Valen's nails black.
I think the color of the flower should be changed: either put it really white for a contrast or make it dark purple or deep black.

One thing you could also do is paint a strip of her hair white on the side.
(I'm also a dreadful painter s I can only make suggestions)

On second tough, I think homunculus is right, and the contrast between what she is and what she looks is god, there is no need to change the portrait.

Well, bodhi's portrait is not really good for her but look at her dialogs, her subtle banters with saemon and after all, she makes you fall into her trap (if you have sided with her) so she has some sort of influence on you ! Moreover, zillions of movies have depicted the vampires' charm (movies, not series... ;) ).

Ah, yes, the portrait. It is lovely--in fact, it is one of my favorite female portraits in store. I like it that she seems innocent and pure--in fact, the portrait itself can be used also for any other PC that one might make.
