Recently I tried to install Sol on my sister's compute because she has Baldur's Gate now.  So when I did it, I had practically no problem except for one:

Skipping [improved Irenicus (recommended, optional)]
Error: problem parsing TP file [SETUP-SOLAUFEIN.TP2]: Sys_error ("WeiDU.log: Permission denied")

ERROR: Sys_error ("WeiDU.log: Permission denied")

Also, now that I play the game, every single improved encounter besides Dragons and other such stuff seem to now exist, even though I haven't installed them.

I got the Torgal encounter, and the Kangaxx encounter, and various other stuff.

I don't know what's up. I did have to put the zip file for Sol on a CD and transfer to her computer that way if that's what's wrong.

There's your problem. When you put something on a CD, it gets marked "READ ONLY" by Windows. When you copy it off the CD, the copy is still marked "READ ONLY". Later, we see:

Quote
Sys_error ("WeiDU.log: Permission denied")

This means that we couldn't change the log file (list of mods you have installed) because it is READ ONLY.

You can use windows explorer to make all of the files not read-only by hand (click on properties, unclick "read only"). Or you can put the Sola ZIP on a floppy instead (he'll fit). Or you can download it again from the webpage.

So could I go into Winzip and change the files back to the way they were?

I'll try that and then try re-installing.

Ok, so I put the zip file for Sol in her computer's desktop, and I marked off the Read-Only part so that it wasn't read-only anymore.

So I re-extracted every file back to the BGII folder, and tried to re-install.

It's still saying the same thing over again.

You may have to manually un-read-only the file WeiDU.Log (and any other file it complains about), since they weren't removed earlier. Also, verify that you have enough disk space.

I'm not sure what other help to offer you, since you are the only person who has ever reported this sort of error. :-( If all else fails, a tragically boring reinstall of BGII (and then the bioware patches, etc.) will fix this problem.
