Hurray!!!   Looks like it was a good turnout.    4 hours is much better and the 1st one.... more time to have fun.

Anyone know who the judges are?

Er... I am one of the judges.  Yeah.  Send any bribes to me.  Also all your finished mods, which I will make sure not to delete before sending on to the rest of the judges.

Trust me.

How much should I send?    I only have a few thousand gold pieces.   Will that be enough?     I fully trust you... I mean, if you can't trust a pirate, then who can you trust.

That will do nicely.  Where do you want most of your points?  Exposition of Theme?  Originality?

Note to those of you without actual cash: I also accept rum and/or booty.

They got them stumpy legs and puffy potato noses!
And what's with all the turnips?
Why do they eat so much root vegetables, anyway?

Yeah, the testing of the mods will probably take longer than actually making them.  Eight mods x half an hour each = 4 hours, plus writing up reviews/judging, plus installing, and whatever.

And now I'm off to work.  When I return I expect to see my inbox full of cheques and the trophy.

(Actually, I'm rather worried about my chances, given certain difficulties.  But it's all in good fun, eh wot?  Pip pip, Bob's your uncle, and... er, suchlike.)

This would probably be a good time to point out that late-finishing entries can still be archived, like mine was for Iron Modder 2. (Hint, hint, St. Jo :) )

Yes, please don't let your creations disappear into oblivion.  I still install the Iron Modder entries when I actually get a chance to play BG2.  :)

Yes, a very good point, anybody who at any time would like to finish a mod they started today, or even write a quick mod to suit these themes, just send it my way and I'll get it out.

Some very interesting results, and a number of "firsts" for our little competition, including...

- First tie for first (and notice that there are two other score pairs!)
- First non-Ghreyfain win
- First time all four judges selected different top entries

My sincere thanks to all Iron Modder entrants and fans, as well as to the judges who put a lot of time into going over the mods.

I'll prepare the download pack over the next few days. Neriana submitted an entry after the deadline, and I'd like to see Riklaunim's fixed up and made functional as well.

- First non-Ghreyfain win

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I... I am dethroned!  Deposed.  Defenestrated.  Well, maybe not that last one, but I do know this: You can't keep a pirate down.  I swear on my first mate's grave that I will get my revenge!  Watch your backs, fellow Iron Modders, for one day... ONE day... Ghreyfain will once again rule supreme over Infinity Stadium!  AHHH-hahahahaaaa!  ARRRRH!

:) But yeah, congratulations to the winners and the other contestants.  I rather like how the theme this time let us do something a little less silly (or did it keep us from doing such a thing?).  Look for an improved version of Ghreyfain & Co.'s entry in the Quest Pack Sim's putting together.

And one more thing, how come no one did a Solaufein/Jan/Skie impersonation to do some judging?  I quite liked those bits from the first two competitions. :D  I heard Goo and the Turnip Golem are interested in judging the next game of Iron Modder... but who would speak for them?

As a final humiliation I have been forced (i.e. I came up with the idea) to pass on the one thing that makes me what I am.  My beloved pirate hat, which allows all to know of my piratical grandeur, has been passed on to the Iron Llama and the Iron Texan.  May they fit improperly and itch eternally!  Pfah!

I wasn't really sure what to expect for the first Iron Modder competition, but I had some definite ideas of "what I thought we'd see" for the last two.

Interestingly, what I thought would be the "obvious" paths for each weren't taken.

For Slimes, I thought for certain we'd see a Saemon plot of some sort, or maybe Gaelan Bayle. Didn't happen, although Ice did go back to the BG1 roots for Coran. :)

For Kiss, I felt certain we'd see vampires. The game's teeming with them, and after one kiss... boom, you're (un)dead. While there were undead on offer this time around (including the winning entries), no vampires.

Mind you, I'm not complaining. If I knew what all the entries would be, I wouldn't be nearly as motivated to hold the contests. :)

No...pirate pancakes?

I have lost more than a competition today, friends. I have lost a hero.
I've given up on the light of good.
