Auntys reaction.
« on: May 02, 2004, 02:44:59 PM »
I wonder what kind of reaction Nalias aunt will have. She didn't take to kindly to being saved by the PC's she really didn't like the PC taking over the keep, so what would this woman do if Nalia is having a romantically involved with the PC.
Now, at last, the masks had fallen away.  The strings of the puppets had become visible, and the hands of the prime mover exposed.  Most ironic of all was the last gift that Raziel had given me, more powerful than the sword that now held his soul, more acute even than the vision his sacrifice had accorded me - the first bitter taste of that terrible illusion:  Hope.

Well you can guess that her reaction is NOT going to be anything like "Oh, Nalia! You've finally found a man. Atleast he's not that brat, Isaea. Ohh, he's a handsome specimen isn't he, when's the wedding? Good luck to you both!" Probably the opposite of that, infact ;).

Is that the dead women who usually attacks me verbally in the room before the golem's room? She usually assaults me as soon as I open the door like Galcias. Without her head she keeps to herself mostly.

When does she die?  She always leaves with her guard after insulting me.

I think Jester is speaking of the horrible accident she meets on the end of his sword.

If you give her more dialogue, I will be happy to listen what she has to say for a change. :)

She's not likely to get any nicer in the mod, nor will killing her be an option if you want to romance or keep Nalia.

I never take Nalia inside the keep for she would perhaps be weakened by seeing killed relatives. Killed by bad bad TorGal of course. *smirk*

ACTUALLY jester, that sounds interesting. If Nalia is not there with you while you're in the keep and you DO kill the aunt, she can't possibly know it was YOU who killed her, unless you admit it, or one of the other NPCs says so. It would be good manipulation of her then, for an evil alligned person, but also you could say something that would trip you up, for example if you said "Sorry Nalia, both your aunt and your father were killed by the trolls, I have slain their leader however." and Nalia, being the naive person that she is, would not notice that you shouldn't know who her aunt was at first, but after a few days she might come to a realisation - that'd be nice, but complicated.

Something like "How could you know who my aunt was?" and if the PC has high charisma then maybe he could convince her by saying something like "One of the servants informed me, just before he was attacked by one of the trolls in the keep." etc etc.

Course you could say you just couldn't find her.

Good suggestion? Maybe something for after the mod is initially released, it'd be a good way for an evil character to manipulate her, as I said earlier, what with all her family dead now, and her very vulnerable, naive and open to comfort - if you see what I mean. Maybe this is too much, really, for the scope of this mod?

Now I can make the claim of the crusades my own. :) Deus vult or something like this.

By beloved Nalia, I tried to rush out of the keep with a women who claimed to be a relative of yours, but a spirit troll must have gotten a bite on our way out and that is all I can say. I am sorry. *hands her a well groomed head with the last sign of an arrogant smile on the dead lips*

The only problem with her having an "unfortunate accident" might be if she comes back to haunt the PC.....now how did that imprisonment spell work again?? :) ;D :)

I see an audience not giving my treatment of Nalia very much credit.

You called it your core-vis audience yourself. :P I just want to see the treatment of her aunt given some credit. Or call it room to maneuvre.

On a sidenote: What if a vailiant paladin refuses to take Nalia inside, because it might be too dangerous? After all the group could now be entirely composed of veterans and it is quite viable to want to keep Nalia out of the frontline, if you have a strange feeling of attraction to this kinky socialist/aristocrat. Is it possible to start the romance after the keep is freed or is it CC or the highway?

I wouldn't think that kind of condescension makes for a good start to a romance.  If you start off by telling her, "No.  You're not an adventurer.  You're a lady.  Stay back and let me do the fighting," why should she view you as different from Isaea?

How about calling it, "You just want to be able to kill Nalia's aunt without any consequences"?

You should if your evil enough and have enough charisma and choose the right diologue path... though eather way I think you should loose a reputation point. While you may be able to convinve Nalia that it was the trolls the nobles would think you killed her (they would even if you didn't) and the rumors of the "brutish northern barbarian slaughtering his betters" would travel.

Nalia is good.  It makes little sense that she would get involved in a romance with an evil character, particularly one with little enough regard for her to kill her aunt.

Nalia is nieve and she just lost most (okay, now all) of her faimly. She'd be looking for people to hold onto, and an evil character with enough wits could take advantage. Bastards get away with all kinds of stuff in reality... hell... personally I'd like there to use the evidence collected to blackmail Isiea instead of turning him in! ;)
