Problem create tlk file.
« on: April 24, 2017, 01:07:00 PM »
Hi,

I want to convert a Dialog.tlk file into a * .tra file, in order to translate it.  I use the statement

weidu --traify-tlk dialog.tlk --textout dialog.tra

With the version 185 of the WeiDU, this statement does not work, shows me the help screen, it is possible that this statement is now deprecated.

But using version 125, the dialog.tra file is created correctly.

To try to test the changes I'm using:

weidu -make-tlk dialog.tra.

In the version 125 it shows:

C: \ Planescape Torment - Enhanced Edition> weidu --make-tlk dialog.tra
[Weidu] WeiDU version 125
[./chitin.key] 249 BIFFs, 14569 resources
[./dialog.tlk] 106834 string entries
[Dialog.tra] parsed
[Dialog.tra] has 106834 translation strings

Does not generate a new tlk file.

With version 185.

C: \ Planescape Torment - Enhanced Edition> weidu --make-tlk dialog.tra
[Weidu] WeiDU version 185
[./chitin.key] 249 BIFFs, 14569 resources
[./Dialog.tlk] 106834 string entries
[Dialog.tra] parsed
[Dialog.tra] has 106834 translation strings
New TLK will have 106834 entries

But it does not generate a new tlk file either.

What am I doing wrong?

Greetings and thanks.

Both v185 and v125 are hopelessly outdated (for over 10 years). Moreover, PST:EE is not yet supported by the latest stable WeiDU version. Use the most recent beta from here instead: http://weidu.org/~thebigg/beta/

The correct syntax would be:
Code: [Select]
weidu.exe --traify-tlk --out dialog.tra
Or if you haven't specified a language yet:
Code: [Select]
weidu.exe --use-lang en_us --traify-tlk --out dialog.traReplace "en_us" by the language code you want to export from (e.g. fr_fr for French).

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but do not create the new dialog.tlk file, I have searched it in the root directory and in the lang\en_us directory.

Code: [Select]
C:\Planescape Torment - Enhanced Edition>weidu.exe --use-lang en_us --traify-tlk
 --out dialog.tra
[weidu.exe] WeiDU version 24001
This is a non-stable version. Unless you're sure about what you're doing, consider downgrading.
[.\chitin.key] 249 BIFFs, 14569 resources
[.\lang\en_us\dialog.tlk] 106834 string entries

With version 24001, what is the statement to transform a .tlk file to .tra?

EDIT =
I have used:

Code: [Select]
C: \ Planescape Torment - Enhanced Edition> weidu.exe --use-lang en_US --make-tlk
Dialog1.tra --tlkout Dialog3.tlk

And now creates the Dialog3.tlk file, rename the file to Dialog.tlk, but does not display the changes in the game ???.

Greetings.

I don't know what problems you are having. WeiDU produces the expected results in my tests, both in traifying a TLK and in creating a new TLK from a TRA (which were admittedly not performed on PSTEE, but they should hold for all EEs).

Hi,

You are right, it is a problem of my pc, the file is generated, but I need to press F5 to see it, it seems a cache problem.

Works correctly, thanks for your help.

Greetings.
