Anyone still willing to mod?
« on: August 17, 2016, 12:51:10 PM »
I got some interesting and BIG ideas for giving bg1 more replay value and putting it more into line with the writing quality of the second game. I could sketch out my basic concept... but my question is, is anybody actually still willing to do the programming part? I don't know anything about coding nor do I want to. My game is creativity and writing. that is the key issue here

some concepts I've been coming up with:

drastic expansion of the npc project's party interactions. I think this alone would be a reason for many people to go through the game again, multiple times even
-) npcs reacting much stronger to plot events
-) npcs own agendas playing a much larger role
-) more roleplaying/alternative solutions for quests (urgently needed)

further uses for the mostly empty once-only visited wilderness areas
-) treasure hunting
-) resource gathering
-) escorting caravans
-) or doing trading runs yourself

letting the party reach higher levels (the gap to the party levels at the start of bg2 can be explained away by the torturing).

so that would directly tackle three weaknesses of the first game. let me know whether anybody still believes in baldur's gate. you can be assured I spent time on thinking about how to improve it
