Idea for scrools and potions using kits
« on: September 28, 2013, 12:03:19 PM »
There is a lot of potions and scrolls in game. Most of the ends up sold. I was thinking is it possible to make a thief/bard kit that could cast spells - but not from spell book but from scrolls he has. Ranger/other kit could be proficient with potions and could apply potions he has on character in the game. That would requite connecting the spell icon with a scroll container or potion case.

That's a nice idea. Though many potions are useless - unless you're revising them in the process, I'm not sure how popular the potion of Fire Resistance(40%) is going to be, or the Stone form. And there's "greed" effect to consider: scrolls and potions can be used only once, so it's "neater" to sell them.

Some balance - scroll can be sold or erase-learned by a mage for free exp. On the other hand such kit could use them in a handy way when wearing armor etc. :) Potion "master" could apply then on others so it may be handy (heal, freedom of movement etc.) even if they could not use it directly (why not, he's the expert)
