Beta 231.08
« on: March 22, 2013, 04:18:18 PM »
Welcome to the dramatic unveiling of Yet Another WeiDU Beta.
You can have the Windows and Linux stuff from the beta location. OS X stuff will be uploaded as soon as I can get my hands on it.

Highlights of this event include, but are not limited to:
  • New functions by CamDawg.
  • SAVE_DIRECTORY and MPSAVE_DIRECTORY variables.
  • A multitude of minor fixes and tweaks.

Also included are UAC manifests for WeiDU and WeInstall. It's not polished enough to be suitable for end-users, but if you are slowly being driven to the brink of madness by UAC password prompts while testing your mods, then this is for you. Unless you can't get them to work, in which case maybe this will help expediting your descent into insane bliss. Think fondly of Microsoft while you screw around with Superfetch and whatever else might be interfering.
I will look into embedding the manifests into the binaries as soon as I can get my hands on a 32-bit copy of Microsoft's mt.exe (unfortunately, it may be a while).

There is now also a Mac build for 64-bit intel, courtesy of Nifft of the BGEE forums.

I can't install BGT and others in spanish version. Weidu shows messeges about that...

I've got win 8 64 bits spanish version.

I'd like to upload my debug but I haven't an attached button or anything... could you help me, please?

Thanks...

You can use an external file host, like Dropbox or Mediafire or whatever. Or you can post the relevant part of the debug file.

Also, try clicking REPLY button(in the REPLY-NOTIFY-ADD POLL-SEND TOPIC-PRINT line) and choose "ADDITIONAL OPTIONS" - there should be an option to attach files there.

Looks like BGT and SOS fail on the biffing. I'll see if I can reproduce.
EDIT: incidentally, are you also trying to install your mods to a game in C:\Program Files (x86)\ ? That can cause many problems and you should not install your IE  games to that location. If you have installed your games there, you may wish to try again after reinstalling them to another location, like C:\games.

The "cannot find variable" errors are most likely harmless. It was something I had added for 231.08 in the hopes it would disambiguate a class of fairly ambiguous errors. But it turned out to produce more false positives (like these probably are) than anything, so I have revised it.

The "close" error I will have to look into. It is the same type of error that was behind your previous problems, but I don't know what could be causing it.

This isn't specific to WeiDU Beta 231.08 alone, but I didn't want to open a separate topic about it. Starting with the new WeiDU betas I'm getting lots of warnings complaining about some search-and-replace actions I'm doing in the dialog files.

The warnings look like this:
Quote
------ snip ------
Compiling 1 dialogue file ...
WARNING: cannot verify action ~\1 ClearActions("A7Afaaq")~: Failure("lexing: empty token")
Processing 1 dialogues/scripts ...
[UDSILVER.DLG] loaded
[UDSILVER.DLG] saved   61 states, 105 trans, 5 strig, 36 ttrig, 9 actions
Compiling 1 dialogue file ...
WARNING: cannot verify action ~\1 ActionOverride("A7Afaaq",ReallyForceSpell(Myself,\2))~: Failure("lexing: empty token")
Processing 1 dialogues/scripts ...
[WISH.DLG] loaded
[WISH.DLG] saved   22 states, 44 trans, 1 strig, 17 ttrig, 31 actions
------ snip ------

and they are triggered by actions such as this:
Code: [Select]
<<<<<<<< djinnicompanion/inlined/wish.d
REPLACE_TRANS_ACTION WISH BEGIN 17 20 END BEGIN 0 END
    ~\(ActionOverride(Player6,ReallyForceSpell(Myself,\(.+\)))\)~ ~\1 ActionOverride("A7Afaaq",ReallyForceSpell(Myself,\2))~
    UNLESS ~ActionOverride("A7Afaaq",ReallyForceSpell(Myself,.+))~
>>>>>>>>
COMPILE ~djinnicompanion/inlined/wish.d~

The dialog files appear to be patched correctly, so I'm wondering about the warning messages.

Hum, it looks like I would have to add regexp-support to the BAF lexer.

I will look into embedding the manifests into the binaries as soon as I can get my hands on a 32-bit copy of Microsoft's mt.exe (unfortunately, it may be a while).
Well, if anyone cares, this was a failure (mt truncates the executable). The search continues, but the outlook is bleak.
