New EasyTutu Version Released
« on: March 27, 2012, 08:26:55 PM »
The rewritten EasyTutu installer has completed its beta cycle and is now available for general download (as the default distribution) at www.usoutpost31.com/easytutu.

The "Beregost fix" is integrated into this distribution -- no separate hotfix installation is required to get it.

Comments / feedback are encouraged.  Thanks.

Just one thing:

Since this version differs from the previous EasyTutu installation in that it REQUIRES ToTSC, your documentation page should stress this much more clearly and also redirect those users who do not yet have ToTSC to the older version.

I would change this point in the Requirements section:
Quote
You must already have performed a FULL installation of the English language version of Baldur's Gate and its expansion, Tales of the Sword Coast.  If you are using Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga, the expansion is already included without having to be installed separately.  Please note that for a truly complete installation (which is required), you will have to opt for a "custom" setup in order to select every possible optional component.

DO NOTE: as of the 27, March 2012 update Baldur's Gate without the expansion, Tales of the Sword Coast, is no longer supported.

For those of you who do not have Tales of the Sword Coast you may continue to use the older version linked here: SoA ToB
or something along those lines at least...

A fair point.  I'm not going to encourage use of the old installer over that issue (far better to obtain a complete, digital, DRM-free distribution of BG1 from GoG, IMO), but you are certainly correct about highlighting requirement changes.
