Stuttering caused by bg1tutu

I'm having some problems running bg1tutu without the game stuttering annoyingly much. The thing is that I have been able to run tutu without problems on the same computer in the past, and the only difference that I can tell is that back then I used a version of tutu that created a different directory for tutu, while the one I'm using now merges it with soa. What I'd like to know is which version of tutu is the last one that still created a separate directory for the game, and can it still be downloaded from somewhere? I do think that it's more convenient for them to be in the same folder, but the game stutters so much that it gets very annoying to play the game like this.

On a side note, I tried to remove tutu by running bg1tutu_restore.exe , but I get the following error:

ERROR: error loading [save/000000002-final-save/baldur.gam]
Could not load baldur.gam in final save directory
Complete the game and try again!

How can I fix this?

I don't know which version that is, but I would install EasyTutu and then tack on Generalised Biffing to reduce stuttering.

Tutu 4 and the unstable Tutu 5 that you may find out there install into your BG2 game.  Tutu 4 is for non-english players

EasyTutu is recommended for English players and it creates a separate directory so that your BG2 remains untouched.

There is also a newer beta installer for EasyTutu located here http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,27712.0.html you should read that thread fully to make sure that everything works smoothly should you choose this route.

Thank you for the reply. I guess I'll simply re-install the game and use easy tutu this time around.
