IWD in NWN2 engine
« on: March 16, 2012, 05:52:24 AM »
Winter is coming again. At Nexusmods, a unique project has been completed: the whole game of IWD is now available in NWN 2 engine.

I'd love to convert IWD NPC to this format; alas, I don't know how. If anybody's willing and interested in such a conversion, though, you sure have my blessing. From my understanding, IWD-in-NWN2 has a party of four characters, so you could choose three out of Severn, Nella, Korin, Teri and Holvir, IF IWD-NPC-for-IWD-in-NWN2 were completed. :)

Anyway, just passing on the news!

Actually, this version of IWD NWN2 has a party limit of 6 just like the original. I'd love to see your mod added to the NWN2 version and will help whoever wants to take on the task by adding hooks for conversation triggers, etc. I'm a big fan of the IE and still play them all the time (playing through BG2 again at the moment), but I never ventured into the mod arena of IE (too intimidating). NWN1/2 is much easier to mod I would guess. I tried to keep the NWN2 as faithful to the original as I could. Hope you enjoy it.

Six players! Wow, that's amazing. And an amazing undertaking, too. I've been tempted to venture to NWN2 universe, but wasn't very comfortable with a vastly different engine. But Icewind Dale in 3D? It's sure worth a playthrough.

You haven't dared yet enter? That is a shame. To me, NWN2 is the true sucessor to Baldur's Gate (Haven't really gotten into Dragon Age yet). It's well worth the shot.
