Virus in Virtue?
« on: February 09, 2012, 11:06:50 AM »
Hi,

I just downloaded Virtue mod from the pocket plane group homepage and my Virus scanner recognized it to be malware, anyone had similiar experience?
Is my anti virus software wrong or anyone of you has a non-corrupted link?

Thanks in advance :)

It's likely a false positive. We've had a share of these warnings at gibberlings3.net, as well. I think the install should be all right. (Remember that Virtue should be installed dead last).

I'm getting the same virus flag. TR/Agent flagged by Avira. Please check the download.

Just re-downloaded it and scanned it with an up-to-date Avast!. It's okay. :)

Virustotal is giving this file 5 of 42 positive, with only McAfee worth mentioning among positives. Pretty safe IMO.

I have Virtue_v19.zip>>virtue_v19.exe  detected by Symantec as Virus/Trojan Horse. I send email directly to falsepositives@symantec.com but their system tell me that detection(s) cannot be revoked. I'm sorry but even if this report is false positive, I can't ignore it. BWS could potentially download this mod and cause "Virus" alert which could lead to trouble, especially when people use shared device for home/work. Solution for this problem is to provide zip archive without this useless self-extracting installer.

@Kulyok,jcompton,jastey can it be done by the end of next week?

EDIT: As I suspected, nobody care so I take care of this issue by myself.
