A few thoughts having completed the game...
- First and foremost, I'm really impressed how you got all this to function on the IWD1 engine. You managed to make party banter in a game that explicitly couldn't care less about it. There were some areas where this showed (my mage leading the party got himself killed more than once), but honestly I'm just really impressed that it was as technically well put together as it was.
- The cast was generally pretty solid. Nella's ties to Kuldahar actually made me care about it, and Korin's dialogue in the Shattered Hand made the area really spike in ambiance--without the banter it would've been just another ruined fort, but with it the zone was actually pretty melancholic. Holvir had an understated nobility which I actually rather enjoyed. I guess the only area that was lacking was conflict. Everybody become fantastic friends, and when there is the slightest hint of inter-party strife, there's usually a quick apology. It would've been nice to see a few instances of confrontation.
- The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the voicing. The quality really varied, from actually really good (Severn, who was fantastic), to solid (Nella and usually Korin), to not so great (Holvir and Teri). I know I shouldn't complain about a free mod, but it actually changed my perception of Teri. By her concept and dialogue she's a free spirited swashbuckler, but her voice could only make me think "modern, somewhat nerdy girl".
- Wonderful portraits, by the way, they were very atmospheric.
All in all, it was still a good experience. I actually finished the game, which I promise you would not have happened sans-mod. I plan on going on to IWD2 (with Domi's project, of course), but before I do so wanted to thank you for the hard work you put into this mod. Excellent work.
