Game Balance Question
« on: December 09, 2012, 06:28:09 AM »
Hello,
I havent played Baldurs Gate for about 10 years and just bought the Anthology off of GameStop- Good Times.
Just done a clean install and now looking at EasyTutu and trying to work out how it affects assets (if thats the right word)
i.e Are the items within BG1 the same or does everything change to BG2 items (if that makes sense)
And also working out how it affects game balance, is it easier or harder? Are there any imbalances i need to be aware of?
On game balance If i were to roll a BG2 class such as kensai or monk, does BG1 accomodate these classes well? (just examples)
Its just i dont want to break the game, might just go with vanilla and widescreen.

Sorry if this is a stupid post,
Thank you for your time.

As the g3 forums are down, I'll leave a little ditty here just in case you can't link out and this is still a question.

In my experience, so long as you don't do something patently inadvisable (like, say, Totemic Druid or Weimer's revised Werewolf druid), you should be fine.  Either of the aforementioned kits make BG1 a joke, but uh... I played through once with the revised Werewolf druid and it was kinda fun.  You know.  In the sense that it let me focus exclusively on the dialogue and plot development as combat was permanently set on "trivial" difficulty.
