Jacked up the install, need help
« on: January 31, 2010, 03:00:53 PM »
Thought I had installed Kelsey at the beginning of my installation, turns out I did not.  I went ahead with the install, now I can't see his name, dialog, and he makes no sound.  Is there a way to fix, or must I start over?

Select him and press K key. If it doesn't work, quit the game and re-install the mod.

Crud.  Did the K key, no effect.  So when you mean reinstall do I need to redo everything or just Kelsey?

Check that your game or other installs aren't running. Run Setup-Kelsey.exe in your BG2 directory. Choose uninstall. Quit. Then run Setup-Kelsey.exe once more. Make sure you see that the audio unpacks and installs. Should work then, probably.

Hmmm.  I did the reinstall, hit the kelsey audio icon and got the message "Could not find C:\program files\Black Isle\BGII-SOA\override\oggdec.exe."  Same mesage for "FW*.ogg."  Oh, and Kelsey was not outside Keldorn's place.  I really appreciate any help you can give, and appreciate the time you have taken thus far.

That means that you have to re-download and re-unpack Kelsey mod with full audio files from Pocket Plane website to your web directory, and then carefully install it again according to the readme. Make sure to uninstall the previous version.

(I usually just delete mods, override folder, restore a clean backup and unpack and install mods again one by one, as per this thread:
http://forums.pocketplane.net/index.php/topic,17555 . But that might be a bit drastic for an unexperienced user).

OK, I will try again!  Thanks!  Hope Idon't have to go scorched earth to fix.  BTW, what comprises a "clean install?"  Just a certain file or two, or the entire game?

It's override folder, dialog.tlk, chitin.key, and your baldur.exe file. (Also baldur.ini, but there's usually no need to replace it). I think it's about 20 mb.
