I probably wouldn't use it, if it could handle processing a laundry list of a hundred or more files, because in my experience that's always been faster than REGEXP. But it wouldn't hurt if it's not much more trouble to code (forward compatibility and all... who knows, maybe even someone more insane might want to use it).

Actually, none of this is disk-bound and the algorithms should be in linear time in both the number of files to delete and the number of files in the chitin, so performance should be a non-issue.

_REGEXP wouldn't be hard to code, unfortunately _REGEXP code is copy-pasted in 30 different places so I'll put that off until explicitly requested  :)
