Character Class Suggestions
« on: September 12, 2009, 05:38:03 AM »
So, I'm getting ready to try this mod out for the first time and I'm wondering if there are any suggested classes to choose for my PC? From looking over the NPCs, I'm wondering if I'll have enough magic power if I don't go with some type of mage.

I normally tend to play these types of game as a Cleric, Paladin or Fighter, but am somewhat hesitant to choose one of them this time around because it seems like the NPCs already might have the fighting classes covered. Will I have a viable party if I don't make my PC a mage? What classes seem to mesh the best with the NPCs?

Yes, certainly, you can be fine with your PC as a non-mage. If you want a single-class mage, you can make Severn one - he's not a strong fighter, anyway, and that'd be more than enough for magic needs. If you want varied magic support, Severn works good as a fighter/mage or bard, and Teri - as a fighter/thief/mage or thief/mage.

As for healing classes, Korin can be a ranger/cleric, and Nella can be virtually any healer - you could dual her to cleric or druid, or choose a multiclass. Teri is a good enough rogue, whatever class you choose for her. And, naturally, Korin, Holvir and Nella are all good fighters. So, you can choose any, and I mean any class for your PC. Enjoy your game!

Thanks for the tips! I guess I just wanted to be sure that I don't make a poor selection for my PC's class and make the game too difficult.  ;D

Still can't decide what I'll go with for sure, but at least it sounds as if I can't wreck my fun with a bad choice.
