Spells: Whose is whose... Cleric VS Druid
« on: May 09, 2009, 08:55:38 PM »
I can easily tell the difference between the three major categories of spells mage, innate and cleric. But no amount of searching on the web has produced a list of specific spells for clerics versus druids.  They always seem to be lumped together.  I know that they share a lot of the same spells, but I do not know which ones are specific. If anyone knows which spells are specific to one class or the other, I would appreciate it if you would share that information.

It will help my party ai scripting if I can split druid spells from cleric spells.

Or you could help me learn the information on my own...

Could there be a way for me to find out within the game, short of playing thru to gain each level? Would a character given max stats and an extreme boost in xp and then leveled up have all the available spells for their class in their book? If so, I would be able to get the information from the save files.

Oh, the game in question is IWD+HOW+TOTLM

Check the .spl files.  At offset 0x20, there is a field used to indicate which priest types can use the spell.

Yes, using Shadowkeeper of the CLUAConsole to give your Cleric & Druid characters 3 million EXP apiece will do the trick. Level them up, Save the game, then write down the filenames of their spells, and there you have it. Alternatively, download DLTCEP or Infinity Explorer (which you're going to need of you're going to be doing any actual modding anyway), and look at the spells: As Mike said, they contain flags that state which Priests can learn them.

Well, Shadowkeeper won't work for IWD. Dalekeeper might, but it sometimes has problems with HOW items.  I've already got DLTCEP, NI and Infinity Explorer so I'll just look at the offset now that I know it is there.

Thanks for the responses.
