What is Finch's in-game name to import to SoA?
« on: January 02, 2009, 11:59:09 PM »
Just started playing it now that it's part of the Big World install. She's quickly become one of my favorite NPC's - I shadowkeeper'd her into a cleric mage - seems even more "bookish" to me.
Love the mod!!! Started playing it with my last install since it's now part of Big World.

Anyway, here's my question: I want to import her with my party into the BG2 part of the game. BGTTweaks does this with other NPC's, so I have the code to copy, I just need to know the name to insert - is it "Finch", or is it some other name - like Bub Snikt uses DSBub?

This is the code:       I just need to replace "Eldoth" with the correct name, and it should work and I'll get to hear that battle cry for a hundred more hours or so  8)

 REPLACE_TEXTUALLY
~ActionOverride("Eldoth",LeaveParty())
    ActionOverride("Eldoth",ChangeAIScript("",DEFAULT))
    ActionOverride("Eldoth",ClearAllActions())
    ActionOverride("Eldoth",DestroySelf())~
~ActionOverride("Eldoth",ChangeAIScript("",OVERRIDE))~

Off the top of my head, I don't know. I do know that you can use Near Infinity or DLTCEP (shoot you can even use Infinity Explorer) to look at her CRE file(s) and get her scripting variable name(s) (aka Death Variable). That would be what you would need to use in your little script block.

Thank you much.  ;D ;D

Edit: looks like her DeathVariable is SUFINCH.  Everyone else is pretty much what you'd expect - their name less punctuation ie: sharteel.

The only exception is Indira, who is J#INDI.

Game standard creatures who have scripting variables usually make sense like that. Mod added creatures usually have the author's mod prefix to help differentiate their stuff from others as well as the standard files...
