[beta] ADD_PROJECTILE fails on SOA
« on: November 23, 2008, 01:41:27 PM »
With 20834, ADD_PROJECTILE fails on plain SOA, looking for a non-existent missile.ids.

This causes the g3 fixpack to fail to install, for example, and is obviously a regression.

20835 should be up in ten minutes. Let me know if it helps.

Since Missile.ids is completely unused, why exactly is it patched again?

Hmm. Linux beta seems to still be 20834, but with a new compile date?

And still fails.

Ask Galactycon. He asked and coded the feature.

Gah, I hate when my compile routine breaks.

Got it, I added a module but forgot to call it in Makefile. 20838 up in ten minutes, etc.

20839 coming up in ten minutes. Let's see how many tries will it take to fix this.

Works now with 20839. Woo!

I'm guessing the several metric shitloads I'm seeing of "ERROR: Variable x appears to be undeclared" in the fixpack and my own code is your new module? Please, please, please hide that behind a MODDER flag. I'm actively using unset source_res-named variables in my code, for example - if unset do the default thing, if set do what it says.

And I'm guessing "ERROR: Variable %%flags%% appears to be undeclared." means I'm using unnecessary amounts of quoting, but it will work nevertheless by some fallback? I have done READ_BYTE 0x0DDC0FFEE flags earlier.

Anyway, ugh. Probably useful, but noisy and intrusive as hell. I'm rolling back until you hide that behind MODDER. :)

Line removed - it was due to me being lazy in fixing this.

Huh? I don't recall having anything like this in my patch.

It was me. I added a try blah with Not_found -> error_message in Var.get_int32.
