Icewind Dale: Global variables set to 0 after HoW?
« on: March 21, 2008, 12:46:05 PM »
I had an unusual bug report: that certain variables were no longer valid after the party(IWD NPC) returned from HoW areas to Kuldahar. Can it be that either the Chapter variable or my custom variables are set back to zero, somehow?

(Possibly only the Chapter variable, as I remember that magrat was able to finish HoW and get the romantic conclusion, which *would* require custom variables).

Naturally, I did the search in IE and found only what I expected to find, i.e. nothing of the sort. But if you've heard or experienced something like this, please, let me know.

In BG1, local variables don't get saved in the Saves and therefore are set to zero again if the game was closed and the save reloaded. Don't know if this could be something similar.
On a second look, you are talking about the add-on, so maybe it's a different thing. Although I would be surprised if the game would be able to forget the chapter number and still work properly?

That's very true. Chapter is a global variable, so - it's really unlikely, is it? At least, I hope so.
