EasyTutu technical details questions
« on: March 24, 2008, 02:08:04 PM »
I'm trying to figure out if this is the user being stupid or an actual problem in WSM. Can you tell me how the bgmain.exe and baldur.ini files are created when installing E22?

PS: can you please answer my question directly rather than dance around the answer like many users (and not only!) like to do?

Hello -

PS: can you please answer my question directly rather than dance around the answer like many users (and not only!) like to do?

I believe this qualifies as premature complaining.  At least give me a chance to say something unsatisfactory before you start bitching about it...

Both baldur.ini and bgmain.exe are copied from the parent BG2 installation.  The newly copied INI is then modified to set the path strings correctly for the new installation.  A "dumb" patch (i.e., open, move to correct offsets, write, close) is applied to the newly copied BGMain.exe to set the starting XP to zero and to fix the caption seen on the Start bar.
EasyTutu: Tutu installation made simple.

OK, many thanks - that confirmed my diagnosis.

It does. Many people don't like answering straight questions, but rather prefer going off a tangent, and besides I like being a dick  :)
