Read FR novels? No.

Play AD&D? Yes, for a very long time.

I've played like, two sessions. I was too young at the time to enjoy myself, I kind of wish I could play again.

No.  Because of this, the 'XdY damage' among other things confused me dearly.  However, I have done both since (if you count 3rd edition) and recently, even.

AD&D - no. Playing in the fantasy world with real people? Never.

FR novels - yes. I read some FR novels; most were bad, but Entreri/Jarlaxle trilogy I rather liked. And I can recommend Dorotea's novel about Irenicus, "Bitter Black Ashes", to anyone. So there. :)

Think... think... Kulyok knows you're going to see this. She's expecting a clever retort. But what is it?

"You would"? It's punchy, yes, but it's also not very original.

"You're lucky you're not on the clock?" Not bad, not bad.

Something about "one crazy Russian endorsing another"? Always solid, but maybe people would take it the wrong way.

"Save yourself some time and just listen to David Warner selling Egg McMuffins on a loop until you agree to do anything he says"? A little wordy, but I think it's the safest choice.

Aaargh! My brain is melting! How did they make Irenicus agree to this? This must be Heaven. This must be Hell.

:) Thanks, it brought a smile on my face. (But HOW did he agree to this?)

Actors like to work.

There's a better version out there somewhere (and probably on my HD) which is two McDonalds commercials back to back. More effective that way.

"You WILL eat the Breakfast Value Meal given to you."

Heheh. They should've let you write the script.

Especially if you went through the drivethrough. Mystery meal, anyone?

Looks like option 2 requires a high Manipulation check to pull it off properly.

Hmm... why aren't there any pirate hats in TBH? I'll want one. :)

No.

Save yourself some time and just listen to David Warner selling Egg McMuffins on a loop until you agree to do anything he says.

Commercials suit him down to the ground. He's far too lame as Irenicus.
"Show me how you do that trick! The one that makes me scream", she said,
"the one that makes me laugh!" she said and threw her arms around my neck.
"Show me how you do it and I promise you, I promise that
I'll run away with you, I'll run away with you..."

That's certainly disturbing.

Okay, Irenicus narrating McDonald's commercials: bad. This, however, broke my brain.

And no, I am not talking about Anomen as a fruity waiter. Watch the video.  >:(

Yes and Yes.  the early Dragonlance books were much better than FR, but I've played D&D since I was 10 (I'm in my 30's).

I read the ones about the Time of Troubles long before I ever ran into BG.

I was playing D&D before there were personal computers, let alone a Baldurs Gate game!

Gosh, I feel old.

I only came into contact with BG by the time I got to college, which is about the same time I started playing D&D. Don't remember which was first, but since I never played AD&D (we started in 3rd), I guess the answers are no and no.
