Modlist Dead Link Notification Thread
« on: February 17, 2008, 02:02:00 PM »
Please use this thread to report dead links found on the Infinity Engine Modlist. Guest posts are welcome. Reports will be deleted periodically.

Please note that there is no point in reporting "XYZ mod site is down right now so all of their links are broken." We don't change the modlist for temporary outages. In the unlikely but occasional event that a site goes permanently dark, we change links as those mods find new homes.

When posting reports, please assist us by providing:

The exact title of the modlist entry
The exact URL in the entry
The full category path (you can simply cut and paste this from the top of the listing, as in "> Home > Mods and Patches > Baldur's Gate 2 > BG2 Mods > BG2 Non-English Mods")

Special note about Geocities sites: All geocities.com sites are now dead. However,tThere are a number of Geocities preservation projects out there, and some of them have picked up old BG sites. If you don't mind, before reporting a broken Geocities link, try the URL but replace "geocities.com" with:

geocities.ws
reocities.com
oocities.com

I have been able to save a few sites with this method.

The BG1Tutu v4 Mac link is useless -- goes to a site that no longer has the software (and apparently hasn't for 2 years)

Warrior Kitpack:

I get a 404 error at BWL. I sent a message to the Admin.

I didn't see it listed on the downloads page.

Not a dead link per se, but Customizing a Weidu Installer in the Weidu/T2P Tutorials is a dead end. The tutorial ends abruptly in the first sentence.

Solaufein Flirt Pack

If somebody could upload it to another location, that would be great!

I've found one. It's here:

Icewind Dale 2

Subrace Pack

http://info.aol.co.uk/hometown/informations-produits/

Home > Mods and Patches > Icewind Dale 2 > IWD2 Mods > IWD2 Rules and Tweaks

It just connects to an empty site in non-english language

All of the download links for Alora are 404.
 Mods and Patches > BG2 > BG2 Mods > BG2 NPC Mods > Alora

Craig's Bottomless Containers
Home > Mods and Patches > Baldur's Gate 2 > BG2 Mods > BG2 Stores and Items
The link goes to "http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=024590;p=1#000005", which is just a thread on the Ironworks forum. User Wutchamakalit posts links to both the "fantastic little gem of preciousness" and its README . . . both of which are 404.

The link for Lure of Sirine's Call, BGT-version still goes to a download site at SHS (where it is no longer). The link should be directing to the PPG download instead.

"Home > BG1Tutu Enhancements > ModLinks > Secret of Bone Hill @ IEGMC" is dead.

"> Home > Mods and Patches > BG1Tutu > BG1Tutu Quest Mods > The Secret of Bone Hill" is working.

The resource is downloaded from this page: http://dl.spellholdstudios.net/sobh

Link to Rahul Kanakia's Potion Quest homepage is dead and I don't think it's hosted anywhere else. I have v.1 copy in case someone is interested in hosting or just obtaining it, not that it's an incredibly cool quest though ;D

Edit
Duh, just noticed it was incorporated into Quest Pack ::)

Magnificient Magic Store by Tapio Kivikkola looks to be dead for good - can't find a single place where it's hosted anymore. I have v.3(.01) copy in case someone is interested in hosting or just obtaining it.

I'm not sure if those are somewhere on the modlist, but links to 'The Kelsey Song', 'Irenicus Mix' and 'Party Mix' from Diversions and Soundsets on the main page are broken.
It'd be a shame if they disappeared from the net, anyone know of a mirror?
