I was fairly sure it was going to end up where it should have been all along - One Pixel Productions(well, in addition to Xan). Though, yes, it's been a while, and Xan is the only place you can get it, so...

It's already on the mod's website, but I'll add another link to the modlist, as well. (I'd like to say "Whenever I see people mentioning this animation, I proudly say that they can found it here, thanks to Erephine and Nythrun!", but truthfully, I just open the forums and find that somebody has recommended it already).

I wouldn't get your hopes up. It's an entire different set of weapon animations, so they'd have to be redrawn.

A separate component of Xan NPC mod, it addes BG1-style animation to Xan's Moonblade and other flaming swords( Angurvadal, Flame Blade, etc), courtesy of Erephine, the author of One Pixel Productions.

Because is is a mod for three conversions: BG1, BG1 Tutu(EasyTutu), and BGT. Same goes for any other mod with similar functions: SCS, Coran's Friendship, jastey's quests and so on. I advise placing these questions in a separate topic.

Flaming swords for Baldur's Gate II is not a component of Xan mod. It was not designed for Xan mod. It was not designed with Xan mod in mind.
It is independently created content to bring back the animation for all flaming swords, for modded or unmodded BG2 games.

Can anyone submit a link to ModList? It needs one about Erephine's work, and I'm willing to add one.

If you read the topic in question, you know that Erephine said it was not working and complete. Just dumping the frames into your override folder will not achieve the desired effect: it needs additional patching for colorglow solid, adding FS animation to certain swords, and replacing this animation for others. Nythrun provided this patching, and currently the only fully working version is included into Xan mod.

Not true.

To install, simply copy the files to your override. I realise it's not perfect, but hey... I'm not perfect. And this was the best I could do with my limited means. (i.e. simply photoshop action kind of stuff, etc.)

If you want to fully enjoy it, SOME of the flame sword .ITM files will have to be tweaked, since they have no constant lighting (COLOR GLOW PULSE, without a solid glow) and this will look odd as the flame turns 'dark' in between the flashes at night.

You will have errors in the unpatched version. Check Xan code to see how many often-used files had to be patched. If you want to have your Mordekainen's Sword/boneblade/rodsword flickering, and Angurvadal and Flame Blade - plain yellow without animations they are supposed to have, be my guest.

Again, dumping these frames into your override is not recommended. If you'd like to be able to download a patched version elsewhere, ask for the next version of 1PP.

It's been available separately as an override dump for ages; the good news is that the frames for the shorter races have been added.  I do wish to see a full release of 1pp with these components, though.


Right now the world is safe because I've just had some fruit. I wouldn't count on it being safe 24/7, however.
