That Viconia Romance Delay Thing

I noticed in the sticky it says that the Viconia romance Love Talk 50 can sometimes be delayed. Does anyone know roughly how long that delay is? Or is it random? I appear to have fallen foul of it and I really don't want to progress too far into the game waiting for a romance talk that for all I know, might never happen. So far it's been about 30-40mins real time. I've had two flirts in that time too... so I'm gonna put the game on hold till someone replies (don't make me wait!).

Hopefully my backup saves won't need loading...

Check your ViconiaRomanceActive variable.

These are my Viconia variables.

ViconiaMatch = 1
ViconiaOutOfParty = 1797597
ViconiaRomance = 1602213
ViconiaRomanceActive = 2
ViconiaRomanceOut = 0

Something that might be the cause I noticed; when I get the white flag talk and sleep with her, if I pause the moment the resting movie ends, then unpause, a flirt comes up (but does not if I don't pause). Could that have something to do with it? A flirt interfering with the wake up talk?

Sure, it can happen. But it's not a problem: if so, the talk will trigger on the next waking up. Or wait until the flirt has passed, and _then_ rest and have a white flag talk.

Or ViconiaRomance variable(timer) got stuck, somehow. Try setting it to 1.

Well I tried a few things. I set the variable to 1. No effect. I slept with her then set the variable to 1. No effect. I did both those things and rested again after. No effect. I've moved to a new area, still no effect. Tried resting at an Inn rather than on the ground. No effect. I would try forcing a flirt to come early, but I don't know how. I'm just going to let the game run while I'm out. When I get back a flirt should have come up.

I noticed that the VicionaRomance variable is at 1586537 before the white flag talk, and it's 1602348 after. But in my other game where I've progressed the story by 40 odd minutes it shows 1602213. What gives with that? You mentioned it's a timer, any idea what value it should be on to produce love talk 50?

I don't suppose there is another way to force a lovetalk to start other than the SetGlobal("VarName", "Global", "1") trick is there?

Ah, that's how you do it.

Well... it actually doesn't matter any more... I just got back (been gone 1:30), no flirts had come up, so I decided to try resting, see what happens, and lo! It's all working again now. Weird.

But I'm happy again, that's what matters. I can now continue to find out what happens with Viconia (5 years and I never saw it through before... shame on me) and also finish my romance transcript ;D
