Ugh lost everything

Welp after being a real genius and not backing up stuff on my new laptop I learned that no matter what to always back everything up. Lost all my files including my saved games for Baldur's gate *cries* Had to redownload all the mods I had on this pc and currently working on making backups off all my stuff. Le sigh

Ugh. Restarting a game for fun is one thing, because you lose your saves is another matter entirely.

Khaira, you have my deepest empathy and sympathy.  I know exactly what it's like to have to redo everything; it's tedious, frustrating, and infuriating.  I'm sorry it happened to you.  And I hope it never happens again.  Well, it shouldn't if you back everything up, but computers are ornery...  Let's just hope Murphy leaves you alone for the time being

hehe a bard does sound like fun. And it hasnt been to bad starting over, its just ugh so frustrating to lose everything. My laptop is toast so when I buy a new one im going to make sure anything put on it is backed up. Right now I got finished burning stuff to cdr's just in case this time. Plus having to remember which Mods I had and didnt and which ones were in the "im going to try that one" was abit of a pain so I just decided to dl all the ones that fit the bgII and throne of bhaal on this site and have at it. should be loads of fun ^_^

My laptop's cd-drive crapped up today, not as bad as losing everything of course, but I couldn't play BG for TWO HOURS.

Thats painful, more painful if you dont have broadband as then you are also spending hours just getting it all to work again.
I had it happen a couple months ago, before I even started playing through BGs again, but it happened for NWN2, horribly boring game, with no real character development, however I wanted to keep my character for the expansion arriving when ever. I likely wont even get the expansion now, I dont think my brain can handle playing through that game again.
