Custom items and creating custom abilities.
« on: June 03, 2007, 08:19:50 AM »
Hey, I'm a long time downloader of PPG stuff, first time poster to the forums.

I'm making an npc mod, a well respected ex-member of the Bloodsailor pirate clan. He's a half-elf fighter/thief who turned to booze for comfort after his bloodsailor crew turned on him and left him in Athkatla. You will see him in the docks district (soon, hopefully) staring gloomily into his drink.

My questions are as follows.

1. I want to give him a non-removable bottle of grog to put in one of his quick item slots. He can use it once per day and gives him a bonus to constitution for a while, then at the end he becomes fatigued. How would I accomplish this?

2. I want to give him the special ability to create various types of booze which improves as he levels up. How would I do this?

If anyone could help me an inexperienced guy, that would be brilliant.

Thanks everyone.

Take a look at Keto files(for an unremovable bottle), Minsc cre files(for an unremovable item in a quick slot - Boo) and at Jan's special abilities - especially at the Banter Pack code that adds some new stuff. There's also a tutorial "Adding custom abilities to an NPC" in the tutorial section. Have a look at these via DLTCEP and/or Near Infinity - it shouldn't be too difficult.

And welcome to PPG.
