Oh I am, I just wonder how to offer feedback as I don't have accounts for all those different pages. Might need to create some. Or I'll be one of those horrible fans who enjoy other's work but don't tell them about it to feed their muses. Not nice. But account-creation is such a dull chore. And there are always those who don't like their art anymore and don't wish to be reminded. $:-\$

What I did want to ask in a less rhetorical fashion - should I point out broken links? Is there anything to be done about them? I've clicked on several pieces I really looked forward to and ended in nirvana. Or at least on some weird page or other.

And if Sandy gets her wish and I do start writing her diary, would you mind if I posted it somewhere? I know there's this nonsense-poetry you didn't seem to mind. (I do promise that I would have asked back then if it hadn't happened so suddenly.

) But if I start writing more I thought I'd rather ask you first. I've written quite a few Baldur's Gate stories (but they're as I understand your Alyonna story is) and most of them featured Xan. But I do notice certain tendencies of his to become more like your character and less like he used to be in my stories.

You are very welcome to post your Xan-fiction both here, in fanfiction section, and on fanfiction.net, where many people would read it and offer feedback. If you're looking where to start reading, I recommend Fury, Baldur's Gate, Luck Be A Lady, A Fragment of Substance(and other Xan stories by the same author) and Discovery+Reclaiming(and other Xan stories by the same author). There're more, but those are the longest.

I'm afraid that no, there's nothing to be done for broken links. Fortunately, many writers use fanfiction.net and many artists - deviantart, and these systems are rather stable.

Are you sure that Luck be a Lady is a Xan story?

Sounds most delightful - as Sandy is jumping up and down even while I'm playing my unfortunate Anya who is not widowed but alas... dumped... I think she's having a harder time. Sandy just went through the motions and killed herself when she was done - Anya can never be entirely sure whether he's hers next time they get back together.

But yes. Fanfiction.net seems to need an account to offer feedback to others either way, so I can just post my stories there and link them so I won't annoy all the non-Xan fans in the fanfiction section over here.

On the topic of broken links:

I was able to recover three stories after some searching. The latter are from gamejag, and have the same name as the stories linked, so I can only hope that they are the same as the originals posted.

I wrote this. I hope it amuses you, Kulyok.

"Life is not worth living," said Xan, morose enchanter,
As his ears began to tremble, and he stared into his decanter.
The tears began to leak, and one slid off his chin,
"It matters not how hard we fight, we cannot hope to win."

CHARNAME stares in wonder. "Kulyok is very wise,
"And she said to get him drunk to find a good surprise.
"But this is normal Xan, except a trifle sadder,
"And, as per usual, nothing is the matter."

Poor CHARNAME. She is pretty. Just, not quite enough...
Adventure leaves you grimy, like a diamond in the rough.
A certain ring might have helped, but she'd had dire need of gold
To find her little sister, and so it had been sold.

Xan slumps forward, sleeping. His chin now shines with drool.
CHARNAME calls Jaheira over, and they drag him to his room.
She is disappointed, but disappointment is the rule
As Xan would say. Disappointment, a sexless relationship, and doom.

Made me giggle evilly. And I like the rhymes so much.
(You can get him wounded at rest outdoors in Athkatla in late Chapters 2-3 in v10, if you're playing non-bonded path, see if you like it.)

I'll trade you two of Xan's less awful ToB limericks:

A golem who slaughtered six pigeons
Went out to find a religion.
He found an old sage,
But she was a mage,
And smashed the construct with precision.

A beautiful offspring of Bhaal
Decided to go to a ball.
She went dressed in red,
All gentlemen dropped dead
And ladies kept hissing: "What gall!"

Man, I should've changed the line about CHARNAME not being pretty enough to something like, "Poor CHARNAME. She's a fighter, so charisma was her dump stat/Which left her as attractive as Irenicus's face mask..." (Like that, but actually rhyming.)

I did not know Xan wrote limericks, on top of his many other talents.
