I'm not sure the .ini files will help you.  Make sure you do clean custom/full/patched installs of both BG1 and BG2 before doing the Tutu conversion.  And make sure your installation CDs are not scratched or anything.  And also I'd recommend EasyTutu over BG1Tutu unless you have a non-English game.

As I understands the Readme TuTu requires the Baldur.ini Files in the Version after the first start of BG1. So I need these files before I can run Tutu.
But I have to admit, that I didn't try out of fear to ruin something. :-\

I'm using the german version of BG1.

You should have the baldur.ini files in your BG1 and BG2 folders by default.  It would be very odd if they weren't there.  If for some reason they aren't, start the game and go into the configuration panel, try changing something (like turn off 3D Acceleration or change the music volume) and it should regenerate or update the files.  You can't really get copies of these files from others, since they are specific to your installation.

But if BG1 is crashing on load, it sounds like you need to reinstall it anyway. :-\

Hey Miloch

Thanks for the hint but a reinstall didn't work. It still crashes after the intro movie.
The Baldur.ini is there but it is changed after the first run of BG1. At least this is how it works with BG2 ToB

Any other ideas ???
Thx duwan

Hey I just tried to install Tutu with the Baldur.ini befor the first Start and anything seems to work just fine.
But I get an error wenn I install Tutufix:

ERROR locating resource for 'COPY'
Resource [_ingwolf.itm] not found in KEY file:
   [./chitin.key]
Stopping installation because of error.

Well, for one thing Tutufix has not been translated to German.  So you might have other issues with it, including part of your game being in English and part in German.

If you can live with that and want to proceed, open up setup-tutufix.tp2 in a text editor and add to the ALLOW_MISSING section around line 13:
Code: [Select]
~_ingwolf.itm~If that doesn't work, you can skip it more forcefully by commenting out the section.  Add a /* before the COPY_EXISTING after the // WOLFWERE REGEN FIX (~ line 1086) and a */ after the BUT_ONLY_IF_IT_CHANGES (~ line 1093).

But as I said, you may run into more issues which you may need to deal with similarly.

Oh and before you go further, did you apply the latest Bioware patches to your version of the game (both BG1 and BG2) before converting to Tutu?

I use BG1 Version 1.1.4315 and BG2 ToB version 2.5.26461

I hope that these are the latesst versions. I don't have Tales of the Sword Coast.

Hey Miloch
Thanks a lott. I had to commenting out the section but now it works ;D

But I didn't read the readme befor I installed the Fix. And I liked the walking speed of BG2. Is there any possibility to readjust it to the Bg2 settings???

By the way: What is this _ingwolf.itm file needed for? Okay Its needed for the WOLFWERE REGEN FIX but what does it do ??

You can uninstall the Walking Speeds component.  Just run setup-tutufix.exe again and hit 'N' until you get to that component then hit 'U'.

_ingwolf.itm is probably a TotSC item - it isn't present on your install anyway and should've been skipped.

Your BG1 patch is ok but I would highly recommend getting the BG2-ToB Euro Patch 26498 (like I said, that would've been a good idea *before* the Tutu conversion :P).

Without that patch, you're going to get the dreaded "NPC has nothing to say to you" bug.

Well I reinstalled BG2 ToB and Tutu+Tutufix and everything works just fine. But when I try to move to another map the changeing Screen is that of BG2 SoA.

I think that ther migt have been a problem with my Tutu installation.
please let me know if you need the debug-file of tutu

By the way thank you very much for the help you gave me allready.

(Ps: Do you speek german??)

The screens are intentional since you are now using the BG2 engine.  If you want to restore the interface more to BG1, install LadeJarl's TutuGUI.  Now you have everything else working, you could try some of the other mods there too (though I don't know how many have German translations, if any, but at least the GUI should be ok).

There used to be a BG1Tutu Installationsanleitung that might've helped you more, but I think it's been a dead link for a while (hint hint @ PPG).  It is for me anyway, though I have a problem getting to a lot of German sites.

Und ich spreche aber nur ein bisschen deutsch (das heißt "nein" :().

Well the problem is, that it is impossible to change to another map because I can't selekt one since the screen where one can chose where the charakters shall go to is that of BG2.
I see the Government District's of Athcala but since I am in Bg1 I can't selekt one.

Sorry that I described the problem a little bit confusing.  :-\

Oh.  That is bizarre. :o

Did you follow the directions in the readme, especially under Note 3.7 where you change the paths in your configuration file?

Changed the lines to
~source~         [ ~C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\ulrich\Eigene Dateien\Spiele\Baldur's Gate~ ]
~source.variant~ [ ~BG1~ ]

~target~         [ ~C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\ulrich\Eigene Dateien\Spiele\BGII - SvA~ ]
~target.variant~ [ ~BG2~ ]

I think this should be okay.
Any other ideas???

Sorry but I'll be skiing and can't post for a week. So please don't forsake me  ;)

Maybe this is a dumb advice, but make sure you don't install ToB patch AFTER installing EasyTuTu. This will overwrite Tutu's BG1 worldmap, so...

Hello -

Maybe this is a dumb advice, but make sure you don't install ToB patch AFTER installing EasyTuTu. This will overwrite Tutu's BG1 worldmap, so...

This isn't an EasyTutu installation.  The OP is using conventional Tutu with a German language distribution of BG1.
EasyTutu: Tutu installation made simple.

Hey Guy's

I have solved the problem. The only thing that I've done is, that I've reinstaled everything and this time TuTu and TutuFix before everything else.
I think that one of the Patches for BG2 might have changed the link for the map-changing-screen back to the one of BG2.
Anyway thank you very much for your help  :D
