first timer

i want to play xan for the first time (i never played bg1)
im rather confused about some "bonded", "ublonded" some romance paths and xan quests
i will be playing male (i want to romance amber in my next game) so only some friendship path with xan will be possible. So in such way will i have all quests and encounters which are related to xan or not? or with no romance there are only banters/interjections and some other dialogs?

Xan's friendship track is every bit as rewarding as his romance. I don't think you're going to mind not having to romance Xan.

You will have all three Xan quests and one encounter out of two, yes.
