levelling up - a question about hit points
« on: December 02, 2006, 04:37:39 AM »
generally speaking, if a thief levels up then we roll d6 + constitution bonus, fighter d10+ consitution bonus - (correct me if i'm wrong)

but what happens if a char is e.g. mage-thief or mage-fighter-thief? i mean, XP are divided of course, but levelling up is separate for each class - what about hit points then? i noticed that wnem i'm multi-class, i generally get less hit points for each levelling for each class, for example i'm fighter-mage-thief and my thief is about to level up, which according to the manual would be d6+ consitution bonus, but i keep getting 1 hit point every time?!

could someone explain?

thanks

For double classes, e.g. fighter/mage: (1d10 + con) / 2 and (1d4 + con) / 2. I think it rounds the hitpoints down. For triple classes it divides the hitpoints by 3.

is there a way to raise constiution temporarily - e,g, with a potion, and if so - would that increase the consitiution HP bonus?

That would only give you a temporary bonus as the game recalculates the hitpoints whenever constitution changes.
