As a tribute to the people who are currently using fridge magnets to construct poetry in my kitchen, here is a series of random words strung together to create an illusion of depressing insight while being entirely devoid of meaning:

Fiery wind whispers slowly,
Pain is coming,
Surreal wasteland drifting over,
Sleep alone.

I want a "NO PUBES" fridge magnet. It should be the size of the fridge.

Rhyme it does not.
Per me si va nella citta dolente.
Per me si va nell eterno dolore.
Per me si va tra la perduta gente...
Lasciate ogni speranza perduta che'entrate!

Fiery wind whispers slowly,
As the shit hits the fence,
Pain is coming, but no one
Will fuck the surreal Wastelandishmahenehkchahen
Drifting over,
Sleep alone.

I own a set of those fridge magnets too, but no metal fridge. My father wants to have one of those american freezers, because it's so useful, but we don't have enough space in the kitchen (our fridge is fitted nicely between the wall and the shelves, with shelves to the right, top and bottom.). We could place it somewhere else in the house, but that type of fridge requires access to water, which we only have in the kitchen courtyard, and bathrooms.

So until we find a place to put one of those lovely fridges, my poor magnets are useless.

When I build my dream home, I'm going to build the kitchen so that one of those fridges fits in.

I like fire. 'tis pretty.

P.s.: I have just learned that mixing fire with other things I like leaves me with less things I like.

self inflicted random words strung together to resemble something meaningful

Showered with many things
In an ocean awash with everything
And island of nothing
Becomes alternatively
Nothing and everything
With the crashing of the waves

two cool poems y'all should read:

The Cantos of Ezra Pound (not the whole bloody thing, and you'll need a companion guide, but how many epic poems beging with "And then went down to the ship")

the William Carlos Williams poem about the sleeping, dreaming dog or the one about the plums.
Hey yo, I know this dude right.
Carl, he wore tight blue sweats, but wasn't glued too tight.  all he had upstairs was a crude light
you think that's weird, he lived next door to a food fight.

I find e e cummings unreadable because he doesn't seem to believe in punctuation, capitalization, or sentence structure.  :(

I quite like Samuel Taylor Coleridge. I actually read the whole "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner", but my favourite is still "Kubla Khan", about the valley of Shangri La. I learned about that poem through a comic, of all things. "Return to Xanadu", a Duck comic by Don Rosa (the second Master. The first master is Carl Barks). He does a lot of research for his comics, too, tries to make them fit in with facts as best he can.

Anyway, I like all of "Kubla Khan" that we know today. He didn't finish it, because the opium rush wore off.

I believe it went like this: He awoke from a dream and managed to transcibe the 50, or so, lines we have today; when a knock on the door sounded. After he answered the door and took care of some business matters, he had forgotten the dream. Now, whether it was opium induced, that's anybody's guess. But, yeah, it's a great poem; and I like the RUSH song that is based on it.  8)
