The work that's been done on bg1tutu is brilliant, is there any chance that it could be modified to work with Planescape: Torment?   Torment is, in my opinion, a better game than the original BG and both IWD games, but is spoilt by being stuck at a 640x480 resolution.  Anyway, I'm not sure how much work this would involve but it would be very much worth it!

It would certainly be awesome, but given how much wacky hardcoding is involved in PS:T it would likely be a gargantuan task, if it's at all possible. You might be interested in the GemRB project though, it has somewhat similar aims.

Every Infinity engine variant has its own quirks and unique scripting commands, and PST is "more different" than all of the others. It's highly unlikely it could be done in satisfactory fashion.

Has this project gotten further towards Mac-friendly Planescape?  I'd heard that it's possible with an emulator, but don't know enough about it to try (nor do I have the game, as I don't own a Microsoft PC).

I think the last time I messed around with GemRB was last year - it wasn't what I would call playable back then. From what I understand it isn't there yet either, for one thing combat hasn't been implemented. PS:T runs fine using Virtual PC on my Dual G5, so if you have a G5 (or of course, any Intel Mac) that should work for you. Copies of PS:T are perhaps surprisingly easy to find given that it's a 7 year old cult game.

Hm, no G5 at this point (starving musician).  I may try to snap up a copy though while it's still around...
