Win98SE and Weidu don't play well!
« on: August 18, 2006, 05:33:10 PM »
My problem is that dos mode windows are not supporting long file names, and I keep getting errorr messages "can't find Setup~1.tp2"  and it can get real "UGLY", I was doing a NEJ megainstall and it uses nested instsutions (exits to bat file that calls on a weidu setup then cotinues) it ended up looping. In the end I had to hit reset, and reboot as it would not respond.

Win98SE is suposed to be able to handle long file names, and I've checked the dos window settings and they are correct to handle long file names, but seems when weidu calls a window it will not, any clue as to what is going on?

No way around it, sorry. You can always 'N'o the installation and double-click manually setup-foo.exe (or spend 0 bucks and upgrade to Linux + Wine).

Haha, it would be fun to install linux just for a weidu install.
