Exporting journal to text editor
« on: June 07, 2006, 07:37:29 AM »
Is there a way to export the contents of a PC's journal to a text editor so that a hard copy can be printed?

I know that this is not strictly a modding question, but I posted the same question on Bioware's board and no one could help.  The moderator there suggested I try the modding community to see if you had any solutions.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Not a straightforward easy way. With a little scripting prowess you could do something like

- Decompile all the dialogues and extract the .tlk file with WeiDU
- Look for all JOURNAL commands and AddJournalEntry commands
- Place all JOURNAL strings directly into a new file, then look up all the strings from AddJournalEntry and put them in as well.
